What Does It Mean To Be Passionate?

Your passion can change the world

I see the word passionate being used all over the internet. Most of the people using the word passionate would be considered legally dead if it were not for that pesky breathing thing.

You read posts that say, “be passionate…pick a passionate topic…if your passionate they will come.” Being passionate is not some catchy phrase or a marketing strategy. To be really passionate is to feel an unstoppable burning desire, an internal excitement that you just have to share with the world. You can’t fake it, buy it, or sell it on eBay, but you can expand it and leverage passion into an invisible force that motivates you and the people around you.

Want to stand out of the crowd and inspire people with your words and presence? Focus on your burning desires, spend more time doing things that excite you, and live each day like it could be your last.

One Passionate Person’s Passion Can Change The World

If you would have known him as a child you would have thought him a shy and quiet boy. He made mistakes like many other kids his age, however where he differed from other boys was in his ability to learn from his mistakes. After a mistake, he would examine what had happened, realize what he had done wrong, and with the words, “Never again,” make a promise to himself that was set in stone.

At the age of 18, against the threat of excommunication for his entire family, the young man left his home to study in England. He had promised his mother that he would not “touch wine, woman or meat”. Instead of his vegetarianism labeling him as an outcast he used his passion for a meatless diet to his advantage. He submitted articles to a vegetarian magazine, became a member of the Executive committee of the London Vegetarian Society, and passed his law exam.

Generations to come will scarce believe that such a one as this walked the earth in flesh and blood

One night while traveling to his new job in South Africa he was thrown off the train because of his race. His new employer had not told him about the conditions which Indians lived by in South Africa. At one of the lowest parts of his life the man the world would later know as Mahatma Gandhi discovered the powerful meaning of his life’s mission. Never again would he accept injustice. Until his death Gandhi used his passion against injustice to inspire people the world over and inspire a revolution that changed the face of Asia and Africa.

Four years before Gandhi’s death Albert Einstein said this about the little man in the loin cloth, “Generations to come will scarce believe that such a one as this walked the earth in flesh and blood.”

Gandhi used his passion to change the world. What could you do with your passion?

The Passionate Blogger Advantage!

You’ll notice that the top bloggers in their niche have a certain x-factor that seems to be missing from your average everyday blogger. These A-listers can blog about their cat an utterly captivate their audience. They seem to have a spark that just radiates and creates success wherever they apply themselves. You have the potential to be at the top and WOW your readers just like they do.

You have an advantage that no one else has. You have something that you are passionate about that is just screaming to get out. If you are a blogger that has not discovered what makes you unique its time to come out of your shell. If you are not a leader in your blogging niche it is either a lack of passion or you need to discover your unique niche. Once you have unlocked your passion you’ll have an advantage over 98% of the other blogger out there.

The Secret Of The Passionate Blogger

If you want to grow your passion you must be willing to give your passion. Gandhi was a great man because he gave hope, maybe you won’t achieve the level of greatness Gandhi achieved, but you can make a difference and inspire others.

  1. Indeed good sir. I’ve made the mistake time and time again with creating a blog just because it’s a profitable topic. I’ve been miserable writing them, so they’re basically sitting there doing nothing right now. But when I started writing about things that inspire me or whatever, I have a blast and actually make money.

This is my first visit to your blog, Wild Bill. You have a new reader.

  2. Great to have you on board Jason! I also have started many blogs and realized I did it for the wrong reasons. I really love to help people blog better so I find it really easy to write here at Passionate Blogger.

  3. If only we had read stuff like this years ago, right?…

  4. I feel ya Jason. It has taken a lot of learning and growing to get myself to the passionate place I am now. I still have a long way to go. If I would have discovered a better direction years ago I imagine my life would be much different. I can’t complain as my life is getting better each day. ;)

  5. Bill excellent advice and I enjoyed the story. As bloggers we need to have a passion and embrace that passion.

  6. As Steve Farber says, “Do what you love in service to those who love what you do.” Doing what we love makes solid business sense. :)

  7. Hi Bill,
