I've been using Alexa for the past couple of years. While it isn't that accurate since only a small subsection of internet users use it, it is still useful.

Alexa Rank may not be the reliable basis for ranking, but it help as your basis if how your website works.

Alexa - the bane of my existence. It seems that no matter what I do to please the almighty being behind this entity, that my Alexa ranking always ends up being a complete CRAPSHOOT. Who knows what it will be tomorrow?

To throw salt in the wound, every revenue making service takes Alexa ranking into account to determine their own personal ranking for you, making life more brutal.

Bitching aside, I did enjoy your SEO series and took a few points into consideration for myself. If you ever discover the secret to Alexa, let me know, hopefully before I go over the edge.

Good information. Alexa is not the most accurate ranking in the world, but it's still important for advertisers.

Great Post, that was a long one. Interesting information in there though. And it looks like your blog has improved another 100,000 since you wrote this, nice. I've been slowly watching mine go down and it's pretty interesting.
