I started my first blog Passionate America in the summer of 2004 after being laid off from my next to last earned income job. My hunt for another slave labor job was getting me nowhere, the only jobs I could find at the time paid about half of what I had been making. My wife decided she wanted to go back to work and since she had been a stay-at-home mother with our first child she suggested that I take up the role of stay-at-home father. After a month or two of cooking, cleaning, and trips to the park with the kids I needed to find an outlet for my creative abilities. That is when I dived headlong into the wonderful world of blogging.
